The St. Louis Cardinals will take on the Boston Red Sox on Sunday for their third game of a three-game series. St. Louis has managed to play great baseball during the past few games, as they’ve now won five of their last six. After one of the most disappointing starts in baseball, St. Louis is proving to everybody that they can be one of the best teams in all of baseball.
Although Boston is four games over .500 and would be the best team in certain divisions, they come into this one in last place in the American League East.
The sportsbooks like the Cardinals in this one once again as they come in at -120 on the moneyline and +130 on the run line.
Are the Cardinals Back?
The start of the season for the St. Louis Cardinals was one of the most disappointing in all of baseball. They still have a ton of ground to catch up if this team wants to be what they were expected to be coming into the season, but things are starting to look better in St Louis finally, and that’s a refreshing sign.
When the Cardinals are good, Major League Baseball is good. This is one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball history, and although they have to struggle eventually, it’s tough to imagine that this is going to be the team that does just that.
Throughout the past 15 years, St. Louis has nearly won more than anybody in all of baseball. They’re consistently one of the top teams in the league, and their roster this year is another one that cannot do big things.
One guy to watch out for here is Nolan Gorman. The young left-handed hitter is putting on a show recently as he’s hitting .268 with nine home runs already. If he can continue hitting balls as hard as he has, he should find himself in an excellent position to do something similar against Corey Kluber.
Will the Red Sox Respond?
The Boston Red Sox have played decent baseball coming into the season, despite being in last place. At 22-18, it’s easy to see why people do believe that the Red Sox can continue on this pace and find themselves in a good position going into the back end of the season. They played disappointing baseball against this Cardinals team, but this is a good spot for them to bounce back and get a big win before taking on the Seattle Mariners.
The question is going to be what Corey Kluber can do for them on Sunday. If they can get anything out of Kluber, as he’s shown in the past, they’ll find themselves in a good position. However, he hasn’t been great this year, as he comes in with 24 earned runs in only 34.1 Innings.
St. Louis Cardinals at Boston Red Sox Betting Preview Prediction
Because of how well the St. Louis Cardinals have played throughout the past six games, backing them seems to be the logical thing to do here.
Corey Kluber has been brutal to start the season, and if St. Louis can come out and continue swinging the bats like they have throughout the past few games, they should find a way to win this game.
