The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Washington Nationals on Tuesday for their second game of a three-game series. The Dodgers won game 1 6-1 on Memorial Day and improved to 33-22, which leads the National League West and all of the National League. Washington, on the other hand, has played better than some were expecting coming into the season. They’re currently sitting at 23-31, but are still in last place in the National League East.
With this game being played in Los Angeles and the Dodgers being clearly the better team, it’s tough to say that the Nationals are going to be able to come away with the win. The sportsbooks also believe that as they come in as -320 favorites on the moneyline and -150 on the run line.
Dodgers Looking Good Recently
One thing about the Los Angeles Dodgers, this team knows how to win. They lost a few guys a season ago and came back and showed that they’re still one of the top teams in baseball, if not the best team in the league. They have one of their guys going tonight in the form of a Tony Gonsolin and that should be great news for them.
Gonsolin comes into this one throwing well against the Nationals throughout his career as he’s held hitters to a .000 batting average in 15 plate appearances against this current Nationals lineup. He also has a strikeout percentage of 20% and an average velocity of 81.9 miles per hour.
He’s completely dominated Washington throughout his career, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him do just that once again. If he comes out and does what he’s been doing for the past few seasons, the Dodgers are going to find themselves in a very good position.
Can Washington Steal One?
The Washington Nationals have been one of the more interesting teams in Major League Baseball this season. They’re going to be throwing Jake Irvin, and that could be decent news for them. Although he’s only thrown in five games throughout his career and hasn’t necessarily thrown too well, this is a good spot for him to be tested against arguably the best lineup in the league. If he can come out and get outs for Washington, the Nationals have proven that they can score runs when their team needs the most.
It’s not going to be an easy task for them to get the job done against a lineup like the Dodgers, but again, this is the perfect test for him. With them facing Tony Gonsolin on the other side, runs are probably going to be at a premium on Tuesday. They’re going to have to make sure that they have good at-bats and pitching can keep them in the game.
Washington Nationals at Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Pick Prediction
Because this game is going to be played in Los Angeles, and the Dodgers are clearly the better team here with the better arm on the mound, taking the Dodgers – 1.5 doesn’t seem to be a bad idea.
