Allen Kessler did not manage a smile while he posed for his fourth World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) win photo. This is not to mean the player was not excited about his win. In fact, he was so thrilled that he forgot to tell his server not to include icky green garnish on his victory dinner.
This is the first time Allen is winning anything related to the WSOP tournament since President Obama’s mid-second term. Allen won the Stud-8 Omaha-8 event with a buy-in of $400 at Graton Resort & Casino. He won $6,314 in a field of 57 entrants.
Allen also won his 100th WSOP cash in June 2023. He is among the eight players with over 200 WSOP cashes, including online and WSOPC events.
Other WSOPC Winners
Allen’s win only got him his fourth Circuit ring. However, there are other players with more bracelets.
This includes Daniel Lowery, who won his 14th bracelet after topping the $1,125 Pot Limit Omaha field on Friday, August 18, 2023. This put the player in third place, tying with Josh Reichard, who also has 14 Circuit rings.
On Thursday, Ari Engel won his 15th ring. This brought the player to the top alongside Maurice Hawkins.
Meanwhile, Valentin Vornicu has dropped to position five with 12 Circuit rings. Valentin has not won any rings since 2018.
A Proud Victory
While Allen was celebrating his almost decade-long drought, Shaun Deeb was excited about it. He noted the field had few entrants and a relatively small buy-in. However, Deeb’s negative comment was not about to dump on Allen’s joy.
Allen responded to Deeb’s comment by saying he could not control the field size or the buy-in. He explained he attended Graton Poker Room to play the mixed events and nothing more.
The fourth Circuit ring winner beat Wendy Freedman to take the championship. Wendy has won three Circuit rings before. Once the last card was dealt, Allen exclaimed, “Unbelievable,” declaring his win.
Allen now has 456 cashes on all live poker tournaments. He has won over $4.3 million.
Unfortunately, Allen is yet to win his first WSOP bracelet. He won his 100th amount in a bracelet event this past summer.
Meanwhile, he holds the sixth position for most cashes in WSOP events with 236. Roland Israelashvili holds the first position with 432 cashes, Arkadiy Tsinis with 345 cashes, Engel with 291, Daniel Negreanu with 245, and Ian Steinman with 239.
Most of these players have won online Circuits and Bracelets events. However, Kessler considers online rings and bracelets fake.
Allen posed for a photo for his X account and posted the dinner served after his win. It is not clear who pays for the meals. However, Allen was quick to note he forgot to ask his server not to include the green garnish.
The World Series of Poker Circuit at Graton Resort featured 20 ring events. By Friday, 15 events were down, with the $1,700 Main Event beginning on the same day. The tournament ends on Monday with a final table of the Main Event for $500,000.
