The National Football League will kick off Thursday Night with Week 1. In what is expected to be a great season, the 2023 campaign promises to be full of great plays and excellent finishes.
Week 1 projects to see some great games as well. While we will preview many of them individually this season, let’s take a look at some of the best games in National Football League Week 1.
Detroit Lions +6.5 at Kansas City Chiefs; 54
The first game of the season features the upstart Detroit Lions on the road at the defending Super Bowl Champion. The Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce will be on full display.
Look for these two teams to be fully prepared and ready to get after it here. Will we see a Super Bowl letdown for the home team? Rest assured, the crowd will not start slow. It should be a fun NFL opener!
Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 at Cleveland Browns; 48
Joe Burrow is expected to play for the Bengals. Will his injury during camp force him to start slow?
The folks in Cleveland are going to be ready as DeShaun Watson and his Browns look to be a force to reckon with in 2023. High hopes for both teams and a huge Ohio rivalry. This has the makings of a great 2023 opener!
San Francisco 49ers -2.5 at Pittsburgh Steelers
One of the best teams in the league in the San Francisco 49ers, have to start the season on the road across the country.
Pittsburgh certainly is going to be ready to get after it here. The Steelers know they have to pick up wins to have any chance to compete in the AFC North. That’s a loaded division.
Can the Steelers slow down the 49ers offense, led by Brock Purdy and his loaded offense?
Green Bay Packers +1 at Chicago Bears
No Aaron Rodgers on one side. Justin Fields, on the other. The biggest question to answer here – is Jordan Love going to be an NFL-caliber quarterback to get his team in postseason contention?
This should be a great game in the Windy City, and the winner will be atop the NFC North from the start.
Philadelphia Eagles -3.5 at New England Patriots
Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will start on the road at the Patriots. New England is getting basically no attention to start the season.
In fact, they are universally picked to finish last in their division. The Patriots will have to bring their defensive shoes if they want any chance at knocking off the defending NFC Champions.
Miami Dolphins +3 at Los Angeles Chargers; 51
Two teams with lofty goals for 2023. Tua vs. Herbert. The Dolphins and the Chargers. Two teams that many feel they can not only reach the postseason but also win their division plus some.
We are hoping for a quarterback battle here between these two signal-callers. The game also sees Tyreke Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Austin Ekeler, and Keenan Allen.
Dallas Cowboys -3.5 at New York Giants; 46.5
Sunday Night Football! A pair of NFC East teams will get together at MetLife Stadium. Saquan Barkley is back. Ezekiel Elliott is not. It’s Dak Prescott against Daniel Jones.
We love this Sunday Night Football matchup!
Buffalo Bills -2.5 at New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers gets his first start as the quarterback for the New York Jets. His first start is against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The AFC East favorites.
Can Rodgers WOW America on Monday Night Football in his first game as the leader of the Jets?
The rest of the Week 1 NFL Games:
- Carolina Panthers +3.5 at Atlanta Falcons; 40
- Jacksonville Jaguars -5 at Indianapolis Colts; 45
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers +6 at Minnesota Vikings; 45.5
- Tennessee Titans +3 at New Orleans Saints; 41
- Arizona Cardinals +7 at Washington Commanders; 38.5
- Houston Texans +10 at Baltimore Ravens; 43.5
- Las Vegas Raiders +4 at Denver Broncos; 44
- Los Angeles Rams +5 at Seattle Seahawks; 46
There it is. Those are the 16 games in the National Football League. Enjoy the games, and best of luck with all your betting in the NFL. Can’t wait for the games and the action!
