It’s the Big Ten against the Atlantic Coast Conference. North Carolina beat rivals South Carolina 31-17 to start the season and then backed it up with an overtime win at home over Appalachian State.
For the Minnesota Golden Gophers, they have been winning games with their defense. Minnesota has allowed just 16 total points in wins over Nebraska and Eastern Michigan to start the season. This is the first road game for Coach Fleck’s Gophers.

The Golden Gophers are one of two teams in the Big Ten West that started 2-0. Out of the East, six of the seven teams started 2-0. Minnesota will play back-to-back road games, as next week they are at the Northwestern Wildcats.
Brown Leading Tar Heels as Potential Threat in ACC
Mack Brown continues to do a great job as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. While he has a talented squad, he has guided this team to a potential chance at another ACC title game. The Tar Heels are in the mix with Florida State, Miami, and even Duke. The rivals play each other on November 11th.
Drake Maye is back under center for the Tar Heels, and he is finding guys across the field in the passing attack. While he does his job, the rushing game has been the key for the Tar Heels. North Carolina ranks 9th in the nation with 243.5 yards per game on the ground.
Omarion Hampton has been incredible, with 271 yards and five touchdowns through the first two games. He has 42 carries, one of the most in the country.
The Tar Heels are one of seven teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference that won their first two games. The Tar Heels are on the road next week, as they go to Pittsburgh, before hosting three straight games, with Miami in the middle of that stretch.
North Carolina Smacks Minnesota
The North Carolina Tar Heels are too talented for Minnesota to stick with them for an entire game. The Tar Heels are a sneaky good offense. North Carolina gets to 30+ in this game, and Minnesota cannot quite do that.
The run game for the Tar Heels continues to dominate. The home team will win this game 31-20 over the Golden Gophers.
