A pair of AFC West teams will get together in the National Football League as the Los Angeles Chiefs travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-1 and lead the division, and have won five straight games. The Chiefs are coming off a Thursday Night victory over the Denver Broncos.
For the Chargers, they are 2-3 on the season and lost on Monday Night Football to the Cowboys. The Chargers are in third place, trailing the Raiders by a half-game in the divisional standings.
The Kansas City Chiefs are favorites in this game. Kansas City is listed at -5.5, with a total of 47.5.
Streaking Kansas City Chiefs
After losing their first game of the season, the Chiefs have won five straight games. Kansas City is scoring 24.5 points per game, but the surprise has been their defense. The Chiefs are allowing just 14.7 points per game.
Patrick Mahomes has been solid, but many are calling him for to be great. He knows when to turn it on, and leading Kansas City to the second most passing offense in the league. The Chiefs are averaging just shy of 264 passing yards.
Travis Kelce continues to dominate the league. The tight end has 36 receptions, three touchdowns and nearly 350 yards receiving. Isaiah Pacheco leads the running back situation, as he is 13 yards away from 400 on the season with three touchdowns.
Kansas City will play their third straight divisional game following this game. They are at the Denver Broncos. The November schedule gets tough for Kansas City, as they have both the Dolphins and Eagles coming to town.
Frustration from the Chargers
This was supposed to be the season that the Chargers bounce back and became one of the teams to beat in the National Football League. After back-to-back losses to start the season and two wins in a row, the 20-17 loss looks to be another setback.
The Chargers need more out of their signal caller Justin Herbert. The former Oregon Duck has nine passing touchdowns and more than 1,300 passing yards but has turned it over or not made a good pass in several big spots this season.
Keenan Allen is one of the top receivers in all of the league. Allen has 42 receptions, four touchdowns, and over 500 yards already this season. The Chargers are also a solid passing team with nearly 260 yards per game.
The run game has struggled, with the in and out of Austin Ekeler in the lineup. Ekeler and Joshua Kelley get most of the opportunities, but the team is averaging just 106.4 yards per game on the ground.
The Chargers have already had their bye week, so they will be busy the rest of the way. Los Angeles will host the Bears on Sunday Night Football next week before heading to New York to battle the Jets on Monday Night Football the following week.
Same Ole, Same Ole for Both Chiefs and Chargers
The Kansas City Chiefs just find ways to win games, and unfortunately for the Chargers, they seem to find ways to lose games. Brandon Staley may not be the head coach of the Chargers for much longer if they cannot figure it out. This appears to be another one of those types of games.
The Chargers may even lead at times during this game, but they can’t slam the door, and the Chiefs win the game. Los Angeles should be close enough to cover, as that’s just what they do.
The final bet for this game is the Los Angeles Chargers +5.5 over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in the National Football League.
