In College Basketball on Monday, the Bearcats of Cincinnati are on the road at the Jayhawks of Kansas in Big 12 action. The Cincinnati Bearcats are coming off a loss at home to Oklahoma on Saturday. The loss dropped them to 13-5 on the season. This is the first season for the Bearcats as members of the Big 12 conference.
For the Kansas Jayhawks, they are also coming off a loss. Kansas dropped to 15-3 on the season with a 91-85 loss on the road at the West Virginia Mountaineers. Kansas is 8-2 in their last 10 games.
The Kansas Jayhawks are -7.5 at home over Cincinnati. The total for this game is set at 145.5.
Bearcats First Big 12 Season
The Bearcats started their 12 lives with a road win at Brigham Young. The next two games did not go well against Texas and Baylor. After a win over TCU, the loss to Oklahoma at home was a bummer.
Cincinnati is led in scoring by forward Viktor Laking. Lakin is scoring more than 13 points per game, playing just 26.4 minutes per game. Guard Simas Lukosius is scoring just shy of 9 points per game, and dishing out 3.3 assists per game. Cincinnati is one of the top rebounding teams in all of College Basketball. The Bearcats are ripping down 42.1 per game.
After this, the Bearcats will head home and take on Central Florida. After that, the Bearcats are on the road at West Virginia and then Texas Tech. Cincinnati has a huge game against the Houston Cougars on February 10th.
Jayhawks Needing Defense
The Kansas Jayhawks know that a recipe for success is not going to be allowing 91 points. That is what West Virginia did to them on Saturday. Offensively, Kansas is not a juggernaut, scoring just 79.2 per game. Hunter Dickinson and Kevin McCullar are the leading scorers, both over 19 points per game.
Dickinson, who came over from Michigan, is also averaging 11.7 rebounds per game. In the loss to West Virginia, McCullar scored 24 points and Dickinson had 19. KJ Adams played 39 minutes for the Jayhawks, scoring 11 points and ripping down 4 rebounds.
Following this game for Kansas, they will go on the road to Iowa State on Saturday, and then head home and host Oklahoma State on Tuesday and Houston on February 3rd. Kansas is at Kansas State on February 5th.
Bounce Back for Jayhawks
Kansas is going to bounce back and win this game. Things didn’t go well when Kansas played Central Florida in their first ever Big 12 meeting. But, things are going to be different when playing at home. We like Kansas to get back on track and win this game by double digits over the Bearcats. Welcome to Lawrence Kansas for the Bearcats. The final bet for this game is the Kansas Jayhawks -7.5 over the Cincinnati Bearcats on Monday. Good luck!
