Hurricanes Need Big Road Win
Jim Larranaga and his Miami Hurricanes are looking to ride the wave of three wins in their last four games. After back to back wins over Notre Dame and Pittsburgh, a loss to North Carolina State finished their month. The Hurricanes then started the month of February with the 82-74 win over the Hokies.
The Hurricanes are led in scoring by Norchad Omier, with 18 points per game. The Hurricanes have three other players scoring double digits per game. Next for Miami is Matthew Cleveland, with 14.9 points per game. Nigel Pack is third for the Hurricanes with 14.7 per game.
Miami will face a tough test in this one, and then come home and host the North Carolina Tar Heels on Monday. After that, the Hurricanes are on the road at Clemson, and then Boston College, before hosting Duke.
Cavaliers Riding Hot
The last time the Virginia Cavaliers lost was January 13th on the road at Wake Forest. It was their second straight loss at the time. Since then though, Virginia has wins over Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Louisville, Notre Dame and Clemson. The Cavaliers are winning without scoring a ton of points; as they are scoring just 65.4 per game.
The Cavaliers top scorer on the season has been Reece Beekman. Beekman is scoring 13.3 points per game. Isaac McKneely is the only other scorer for the Cavaliers in double digits per game, with 11.7.
Virginia will head out on the road at Florida State on Saturday. After that, the Cavaliers will come back home and host back to back games against the Pittsburgh Panthers and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Then, on February 19th, the Cavaliers are at the Virginia Tech Hokies.
