Great Action at PokerGO Cup Series

The 2024 PokerGO Cup Series just wrapped up, and it was a great couple of days of live poker action, featuring some of the best players in the world. There were several individual winners throughout the event, but it was Jonathan Little that was the champion of the entire event.

Little came under fire a bit throughout the event after being challenged by Matt Berkey for some of his poker techniques that were used. That caused a number of other players to stand up and defend Little, and they also rejoiced when he won the overall title.

There were eight events that took place during the PokerGO Cup Series, and players were earning points in order to try to win the cup title. When all of the points were added, Little was able to cruise to a big win, but it didn’t always come easy.

Little was able to win two of the eight events, including the final event to wrap up the action. That win came in heads up play against Justin Zaki, and both players were competing to win the cup until the final hand.

A Nice Comeback

Things actually looked pretty bleak for Little at one point on the final table as he had a very low stack of chips when the action began. It didn’t take long for Little to start to play catch up and he got some help when other players made some bad mistakes.

Justin Zaki looked like he would roll to a win at the final table and the overall cup, but his aggressive play came back to bite him. Zaki was responsible for knocking several opponents out before heads up play, but it also cost him some chips as well.

Little was finally able to get some good hands, and he continued to put the pressure on Zaki, while also eliminating other players. Zaki ultimately got extremely nervous and went all in with a hand that wasn’t good enough to pick up a win.

The win for Little was $453,700, and that was a massive win to wrap up what was a good event for the poker coach. Zaki was able to take home $288,750, but he was gunning for the overall prize at this event.

Everyone that finished in sixth place or higher was able to collect at least $82,000 to score a nice consolation prize.

Some Great Tournaments

Event 8 was a $25,200 No-Limit Hold-Em Tournament and there were 55 entries in the final tournament. That was the lowest amount of entrants in any field, but the large buy-in scared some of the other players away.

111 people competed in the $5,100 No-Limit Hold’Em event to kick off the action, and David Peters took home over $141,000 by winning in that field. The other win for Little came in Event 3 and it earned him nearly $230,000.

There are going to be other big poker tournaments taking place in the coming weeks, but this was a big way to kickoff 2024.
