A pair of Western Conference teams will hook up on Monday in the National Hockey League. The Vancouver Canucks are on the road at the Minnesota Wild. The defense is also third, allowing 2.57 goals per game. The goaltending for Vancouver has been anchored by Thatcher Demko. Demko sits with a 30-10-1 record on the season, allowing just 2.45 goals per game. Demko also has five shutouts on the season.
The Canucks remain on the road for two more games after this. Vancouver will head to Colorado for a big game Tuesday, and end the road trip in Seattle on Thursday. After that, they will finish the month at home with games against the Bruins, Penguins and Kings.
Wild Couldn’t Keep Late Lead
Minnesota held a 2-1 lead late in the game, before a goal with 0:47 to go to tie it up. Buffalo then scored in overtime to win the game. Minnesota got the 25th goal of the season from Joel Erikkson Ek to get the offense started for Minnesota. The assists came from Kaprizov.
Those two lead the offense for Minnesota. Kaprizov has 20 goals and 30 assists, while Erikkson Ek leads with 24 goals. And has 20 assists. The Wild as a team are scoring 3.0 goals per game, while allowing opponents to score 3.23. The Wild are one of the worst facebook teams in the league; at just 46.7%.
The Minnesota Wild will look to do some damage on the road following this game. The Wild are at the Jets on Tuesday. After that, they will head to Edmonton for a game on Friday and Seattle on Saturday. The Wild are back home on February 27th against the Carolina Hurricanes.
