Houston was led by Jamal Shead, who recorded a double double. Shead scored 16 points and ripped down 11 rebounds. He also had six assists and six steals.
Snead, along with LJ Cryer are the top scorers for the Cougars. Snead is scoring 12.7 per game, which is second to Cryer’s 14.8 on the season. The last time Houston lost was back on February 3rd on the road at Kansas. Since then they have beaten Oklahoma State, Cincinnati and Texas.
Coach Sampson and his Houston Cougars will go on the road next to face the Baylor Bears on Saturday. The final game of February for the Cougars is at home against Cincinnati. Houston is in Oklahoma to start the month of March.
Houston Wins at Home
The Houston Cougars are just another level at home. Iowa State has played great basketball, but they are going to run into a tough test here. The Cougars defense slows down and limits the Cyclones offense. Houston gets a leg up in the Big 12 standings.
