It’s the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls in National Basketball Association action on Thursday. The Boston Celtics are 43-12 on the season, and went into the All Star Game with the best record in the league, and also have the best odds to win the title. Boston has won six straight games. Their most recent win was last Wednesday over the Brooklyn Nets.
For Chicago, they come into the game 9th in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are 26-29 on the season. Chicago is 5-5 in their last 10 games, and are coming off a road loss at Cleveland before the All Star Break.
The Celtics are -7.5 on the road in this game. The total for this affair is listed at 226.5.
Top Seeded Celtics
The Boston Celtics hold the top seed in the Eastern Conference by six games over Cleveland. The Celtics are four up on the leader in the West. Boston has won 17 out of 26 games on the road this season. The Celtics against teams from the Eastern Conference have gone 30-6. Boston is also leading at 10.1 point differential on the season.
Boston has three guys that are scoring 20+ points per game. Jayson Tatum is the MVP type player for the Celtics. He is scoring 27.1 points, dishing out 4.8 assists and ripping down 8.6 rebounds per game. Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis are next with 22 and 20.2 points per game.
The Celtics will remain on the road, and play at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks on Saturday. Following that, Boston will remain at home for three games. They will host the 76ers, Mavericks and Warriors.
Chicago Hanging Tight
The Chicago Bulls are 9th in the Eastern Conference, and hold a two game lead on 10th, and 4.5 on 11th place. The Bulls look like they could be heading back to the play-in game, as they sit four back of both Miami and Orlando in the East. Chicago is 15-12 at home, and have gone 15-19 against the Eastern Conference.
DeMar DeRozan is the top scorer for the Bulls. He has had to carry more of the load with the loss of Zach LaVine for the season. DeRozan is at 22.7 points per game. A breakout season for Coby White has led him to just shy of 20 points per game as well. Chicago ranks 24th in scoring, with 111.8 points per game.
The Bulls are at New Orleans on Sunday, before coming back home for three straight against the Pistons, Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks.
Celtics Narrowly Win on the Road
Boston is going to win this game. Sure, the game is in Chicago, but the Celtics are going to win the game. The deal here though – the spread is pretty high for a team in Chicago that can compete. They just cannot find enough ways to win this game.
Our final bet is on the Chicago Bulls +7.5 to cover the spread against the Boston Celtics. We hope this is a great game, and wish you the best of luck!
