The Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto is the biggest in the country, and it has become extremely popular since it opened up just last year. There are many great features of this casino resort, but the live poker room is one of the biggest draws.

This casino was opened with the hope that massive events would come to the resort, and a recent announcement shows that this dream is becoming a reality. In March, the World Series of Poker Circuit is going to be making a stop at this casino, and it’s expected to become an extremely popular stop on the circuit.

All of the WSOPC action has either taken place in the United States or online up to this point, but there is a big following in Canada. There will be a number of tournaments held during this stop, and this will also be a chance for the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto a chance to show off all of the new amenities.

GG Poker and Great Canadian Entertainment have teamed up to make this event possible, but the WSOPC has determined the events that will be played. Most of the players are expected to come from Canada, but U.S. poker players are allowed to enter as well.

Some Great Action Coming

The best WSOP action comes on the main tour, but these WSOPC events tend to be extremely popular as well. There is currently a total prize pool of $3.9 million guaranteed for the tournament in Toronto, but that number could increase based on the number of entries.

The main event is going to be the biggest draw, and WSOPC has already planned for a massive number of entries. Players will be flighted throughout three days of action, and those players can then qualify for the final table.

Most of the professional poker players are going to be looking to enter into the tournaments with the biggest prize pool, but that’s not the only option that is available. Some of the smaller events don’t yet have an estimated prize pool, but a small buy-in will allow those tournaments to fill up.

The final event of the series will be a high-roller event, and this is typically going to be reserved for the top players in the sport.

Canadian Players Rejoice

Not long after this announcement was made, poker players from Canada took to social media to celebrate the coming of this event. There have been some Canadian poker players that have had success playing WSOP events, but none bigger than Daniel Negreanu.

Negreanu has been a fixture on the WSOP tour over the last handful of years, and he calls Toronto, Ontario home. It’s unclear if he will be competing in this event, but he is the reason that many in this country play poker.

Some players have complained about a lack of advertising or promotion of this event, but that should change throughout the month of March. With the WSOPC backing this event, you can expect to see it being popular enough to attract plenty of poker players.
