In a rematch of one of the lowest scoring games in a long time in the National Basketball Association, the Philadelphia 76ers are at the New York Knicks on Tuesday. The 76ers won the game by a final score of 79-73.
The win for the 76ers pushed them to 36-28 on the season. The 76ers moved to 6th in the Eastern Conference, just ½ game ahead of the Pacers. Philadelphia is a game behind the Knicks, and half game behind Orlando, making it interesting with five teams for three spots to avoid the play-in round in the postseason.
For the Knicks, the loss dropped them to 37-27 on the season. New York is now 21-13 on the season at home. Overall, New York has dropped six out of their last ten games. The Knicks are in fourth place in the East, but will need to be careful to not fall out of the Top 6 in the final weeks of the regular season.
The New York Knicks are -4.5 at home.
Banged up Knicks Need Offense
In the loss on Sunday, Josh Hart played 43 minutes in the game, but was just 4 of 13 from the field. The Knicks missed a ton of shots, as Donte DiVincenzo went 6 for 17 and Jalen Brunson went 6 for 22. It was great for Brunson to be back, as he played 32 minutes, and scored 19 points in the game.
The Knicks are still missing Julius Randle with a shoulder injury, and OG Anunoby with an elbow injury. Mitchell Robinson is also expected to return this season. The Knicks are now 22nd in the league, scoring just 112.4 points per game.
New York will head out on the road for four straight games after this game. The Knicks are in Portland on Thursday, and will visit Sacramento on Saturday. Next week, the Knicks are at Golden State on Monday, and Denver on Thursday. The next time the Knicks are at home is March 23rd against the Nets.
76ers Looking for Road Sweep
Things were not a whole lot prettier for Philadelphia, but they won the game, Kelly Oubre was 6 for 19, while Cam Payne was 3 of 13 in the game. Oubre led the team with 18 points in the game. Philadelphia is obviously struggling to score without top two scorers Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey playing.
Tobias Harris is next in scoring, without those guys scoring 61.3 per game. Harris is scoring 17.4 per game, while Oubre is at 14.6 per game. The 76ers as a team are scoring 115.9 per game. Philadelphia is the second best free throw shooting; making 82.9%.
The 76ers are in Milwaukee on Thursday, before coming home to host the Hornets and Heat in their next two.
Knicks Get Revenge
We like the New York Knicks to get back on track here. Look for Jalen Brunson to play, and play well in this game. The Knicks know what is on the line here. The Knicks also know they have to play better in front of their home fans.
The Madison Square Garden fans will not appreciate another pathetic performance. The Knicks are going to win this game. Bet New York -4.5 over Philadelphia on Tuesday in the National Basketball Association.
