The Vancouver Canucks will look to finish the best of 7 series on the road in Nashville on Friday. The Canucks and Predators are in Game 6, and the season remains on the line for the home team. This comes after a Predators 2-1 win on the road in Vancouver in Game 5.
The Vancouver Canucks won the Pacific Division with their 50-23-9 record in the regular season. The Canucks won games 1,3 and 4 so far in this series. Vancouver would take on the Edmonton Oilers in the second round.
For Nashville, they are looking to spring two more upsets. The Predators are back home, a place where they have yet to win in the postseason. The Predators lost 2-1 and 4-3 the last time the Canucks were in town. In the regular season, Nashville went 47-30-5.
The Nashville Predators are -130 at home over the Vancouver Canucks. The total for this game is set at 5.5 goals.
Predators Seeking to Move to Game 7
Nashville used 19 saves from goaltender Juuse Saros to keep their season alive. Saros has been in between the pipes for each of the first five games so far. The scoring from the Predators in the win came from Roman Josi and Alexandre Carrier. They both scored in the third period of the game.
The Predators are not known for their offense. Nashville scored 3.24 goals per game, and allowed 3.02. Both of those are right in the middle of the pack. The Predators do put up a ton of shots typically. During the regular season, Nashville recorded over 32 shots per game.
Filip Forsberg was the top scorer for the Predators during the regular season. He recorded 48 goals and dished out 46 assists. Josi was second on the team, with 62 assists and 23 goals. Grant Nyquist was also a big contributor for the Predators, with 52 assists and 23 goals.
Vancouver Eyeing Second Round
The Vancouver Canucks had one of their better seasons in franchise history. The Canucks won the division, and did things really well on both ends of the ice. Vancouver scored 3.4 goals per game, and were Top 5 in defense as well. The Canucks allowed teams to score just 2.7 goals per game.
The Canucks top scorers were J.T. Miller, Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson. Miller has six points so far in the postseason, while Hughes has five assists. Pettersson is not quite as high, with just two assists.
The goaltending for the Canucks will come from Casey DeSmith or Arturs Siovs. They took over for Thatcher Demko. He played in the April 21st win, but has yet to play since then with a knee injury. DeSmith played in Game 2, and Game 3, but Silovs has played in the last two games, combining for 47 saves.
Predators Season Comes to an End
The Nashville Predators are going to give it all they can. There is no doubt that this team is going to fight. BUt, in the end, they are going to come up short. We like Vancouver to finish this series off. Despite being on the road, we like Vancouver here.
Our final bet for this game on Friday is the Vancouver Canucks +115 over the Nashville Predators. Enjoy the game and best of luck with all your National Hockey League betting!
