It’s Time to Celebrate: The 2024 WSOP is Live

It’s already been a great start to the live poker scene in 2024, but things are now going to be taken up a notch moving forward. The 2024 World Series of Poker is underway, with the action beginning at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas.

The 55th annual WSOP kicked off on May 28th, and there will be nonstop poker action lasting through July 17th. Main Event action will be held from July 3rd-July 17th, and more than 10,000 players are expected to compete.

The 2023 WSOP Main Event set a record for number of entrants and prize money, but it’s expected to be bested this year. That pot was over $93 million a year ago, and Daniel Weidman walked away with $12.1 million by winning the first prize.

New this year is the $5,000 Champions Reunion Event, but this was not limited to past champions of the Main Event. Those winners were given a free entry into this tournament, but challengers can try to eliminate a previous champion to earn a seat at the 2024 Main Event.

Getting things started off with a brand new event is a great way to start the action, and it sets the tone for a number of new events from WSOP. With 99 gold bracelet events available this year, players are going to have plenty of chances to cash in.

Of course online poker continues to be extremely popular as well, and there will be 30 online bracelets up for grabs as well. For the first time ever, WSOP will allow players from Michigan, New Jersey, and Nevada compete for those bracelets.

Ways to Watch

All of the live action of the WSOP can be viewed from the two casinos where the action will be taking place, but it can be hard to keep up. There are going to be more than 700 poker tables in use throughout the next few months, and it would be easier to watch the tournaments online.

PokerGO is going to be the best source for viewing the 2024 WSOP action, and live streams will be available on a number of mobile devices. The first live stream will be available on May 30th, and there will be action nearly every single day until all of the action concludes.

The PokerGO YouTube channel will also have daily updates and recaps from the most popular events.

New Tournaments Scheduled

Most of the new events are going to come later on in the month of July, and those will be available to players that have been knocked out of the Main Event. The $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship is one of those events, and it will begin on July 11th.

There will also be a $1,000 Mystery Bounty tournament scheduled to begin on July 9th and this will be an Omaha style tournament. WSOP officials continue to look for new ways to get players involved, and the new tournaments accomplish that.
