The $200 buy-in Sunday Millions at PokerStars had another strong field of 7,370 poker players fighting it out to claim a piece of the $1,474,000 prize pool. This tournament took approximately the same time as last Sundays but this time it took almost ten hours to get to the final table and only about an hour, excluding a break, to declare a champion.
This week’s bubble award went to mross001 who finished 1081st. It was REMA who had the misfortune of going out 10th to set up the final table. With no repeat final table appearances, the Sunday Million will have a new champion this week. The poker players at this week final table were:
Seat 1: Mr. Wong – 16,412,702 chips
Seat 2: InstinKt – 6,493,567 chips
Seat 3: CASHRUS – 3,280,627 chips
Seat 4: RACE TIME 12 – 8,610,477 chips
Seat 5: Team Angle – 4,664,517 chips
Seat 6: NDGrinder59 – 8,832,702 chips
Seat 7: SminnowS – 16,430,364 chips
Seat 8: josse99 – 2,778,126 chips
Seat 9: beanage – 6,236,918 chips
Almost nine minutes in and with one double up under his belt already, CASHRUS again pushes all in and was called by RACE TIME 12 who had him covered. When it was folded around and cards were flipped, CASHRUS saw the worst; his Ac Ks was dominated by RACE TIME 12 and his As Ah. The flop brought the Kh at least giving a little hope of a suck out but it did not happen and CASHRUS finished 9th.
The action was fast at this table with all-ins seemingly every other hand. Josse99 was getting short-stacked and went all-in for the second consecutive hand and after no callers the first time, Team Angle called this one. Team Angle showed Js Jh to josse99’s AhTc. An ace flopped and no more help for Team Angle who was cripples with only 336,391 left. Two hands later Team Angle finished 8th at the hands of beanage.
Two more hands went by and now only 20 minutes into this final table, RACE TIME 12 limped in and it folded around to InstinKt, now the short-stack, in the big blind who decided to make a stand and moved all-in. RACE TIME 12 called and showed Ah Td to InstinKt’s 7h 7s. A flopped ten and a turned ace was enough to send InstinKt home in 7th.
Now down to 6 left, it was time to talk deal according to SminnowS, one of the chip leaders at the time. The other top two in chips concur but not all agree and play continues on…after the break.
It is now been less than 40 minutes of play at this final table and at again it is josse99 making a move all-in and it was the current short-stack NDGrinder59 calling from the big blind. Again in was pre-flop domination as josse99 flipped over Ad Kh and NDGrinder59 showed Ah Qs. The flop brought the ace and now only a queen could save NDGrinder59 until the turn brought a king and sealed the deal. NDGrinder59 finished 6th.
Just 3 minutes later RACE TIME 12 raised UTG with 9d 9s and it folded around to Mr. Wrong in the big blind who woke up with Js Jd and re-raised RACE TIME 12 enough to put him all in. RACE TIME 12 called and the board did not improve his hand and he was now out in 5th.
Again a deal was proposed to pay out the remaining players based on their chip count. This time all agreed to look at the numbers and play was stopped.
The chip count was:
Mr. Wong – 28,845,925
Beanage – 18,433,309
Josse99 – 14,350,402
SminnowS – 11,970,364
The deal they agreed on was to leave $30,000 on the table to go to winner and:
Mr. Wong – $129,383
Beanage – $103,807
Josse99 – $93,873
SminnowS – $88,083
The four players left traded blows for another 15 minutes before it came down to beanage and Mr. Wong going heads up for the title and the extra $30,000. The final hand saw beanage all in with As Ks and Mr. Wong calling with 3c 3h and having beange covered. The flop brought a three for a set for Mr. Wong but also a flush draw for beanage. The turn paired the board and meant beanage was drawing dead, leaving Mr. Wong as the last player standing in this week’s PokerStars Sunday Million.
