For the past few weeks poker players and fans of the game have been able to show our support for the legalization of poker in the United States by signing an online poker petition created by the Poker Players Alliance. As of July 14th the online poker petition passed the 300,000 signature mark and only a few days are left for more signatures before the petition will be presented to President Barack Obama.
The 2009/2010 Season of Circuit Events schedule has been announced by the World Series of Poker and the schedule includes eleven United States stops. The WSOP Circuit travels around the United States and stops at Harrah’s owned casinos where local players as well as visitors can participate in the available tournaments.
Just a few short weeks ago Absolute Poker announced the addition of Matt Vengrin to the online poker room’s pro team. Absolute Poker has now announced the signing of a new poker pro to their team; Lacey Jones. Lacey Jones is the newest poker pro added to the team and she will now be representing the Absolute Poker brand.
Harrah’s announced this morning the list of poker players that are up for consideration for the 2009 Poker Hall of Fame class. The list is ten players long with Phil Ivey, Mike Sexton and Tom McEvoy included on the list.
At age 96, Jack Ury of Indiana is the oldest player to compete in the World Series of Poker Main Event. Ury started his Main Event journey on day 1B Saturday and advanced to the [….]
The 8th World Championship of Online Poker is set to begin very soon so PokerStars has released the tournament schedule for the poker series. The 2009 WCOOP will have forty five events that will take place beginning on September 3rd through the 21st. The guaranteed prize pool total for all events is set for $40 million.
