We all know that Full Tilt Poker has their hand in reality television with their poker show Face The Ace on NBC and now their rival PokerStars is planning their own new television show. The new PokerStars show will be called the PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge and players will be able to qualify online to participate on the show in heads up matches against Team PokerStars Pros.
PokerStars new series the Americas Cup of Poker is in full swing and several teams have pulled ahead in the standings. Over 35,000 players have entered the Americas Cup of Poker to play on a team from regions in North and South America. At the end of the competition the top two teams in each group competing will be moving on to the live final in Argentina.
The 2009 World Championship of Online Poker is a popular online tournament series brought to poker players by PokerStars, the number one online poker room on the internet. The 2009 WCOOP is set to begin in September so PokerStars will be offering satellites for players to win seats to the event beginning tomorrow but this time the online poker room has went to the “extremeâ€Â.
PokerStars is known for being the number one online poker room for many reasons, but one of those reasons is the major tournaments the online poker room produces, whether they be land or online. From the Asia Pacific Poker tour to the European Poker Tour, the list goes on and on. PokerStars has now added one more tournament to their list, the Americas Cup of Poker.
The 8th World Championship of Online Poker is set to begin very soon so PokerStars has released the tournament schedule for the poker series. The 2009 WCOOP will have forty five events that will take place beginning on September 3rd through the 21st. The guaranteed prize pool total for all events is set for $40 million.
The list of poker pros on PokerStars Team PokerStars Pro has gotten a bit longer. PokerStars recently announced the addition of Marcel Luske and Jason Mercier to their Pro Team. Both will join the ranks of such poker pros as Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein and the many others who create the all star team.
