Caesars Entertainment Expands Its Partnership With Nobu Hospitality in New Orleans and Atlantic City

Caesars Entertainment and Nobu Hotel are extending their partnership in New Orleans and Atlantic City. Caesars and Nobu announced the news yesterday, stating that the expansion plans with Nobu Hospitality will see the two companies in four joint projects.

Already, the two companies are working together. Nobu Hotel has catered inside Caesars Palace Las Vegas since 2013.

The two companies plan to spend millions of dollars to revamp this hotel and add three more, including a new Nobu restaurant in Paris Las Vegas.

Nobu Hospitality is a hotel brand established in the 1990s. The brand was conceived by three great minds, including film producer Meir Teper, Robert De Niro, and celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

Besides Miami, Palo Alto, Chicago, and Las Vegas, Nobu has other restaurants in Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Poland, Spain, Mexico, and the UK.

Nobu is publicized as a Japanese-Peruvian fusion. It specializes in making sushi with freshly imported fish from Asia.

More About the Upcoming Projects

Caesars is about to spend a huge investment in revamping its three casinos in Atlantic City. In 2020, gaming regulators in New Jersey agreed to sign off Eldorado Resorts’ to its former owner, Caesars, for $17.3 billion. This deal came with the circumstance that Caesars has to revitalize the aging casinos.

The brand was mandated to spend at least $400 million in revitalizing the casinos. Caesars notes that some of the money will be used to open a Nobu Hotel in Caesars Atlantic City opening next summer.

In 2019, Caesars secured a licensing extension for Harrah’s in New Orleans. Still, this approval came with costly conditions just like those for Atlantic City casinos.

One of the pacts between Caesars and Louisiana is to invest over $325 million to upgrade its big easy casino. Most of this money will build a 340-room hotel tower.

Nobu Hotel will be placed in the tower. The Big Easy Casino will also be renamed Caesars New Orleans in 2024.

Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment, expressed his happiness with the partnership with Nobu Hospitality. He noted the relationship had been a success in Las Vegas. He said that it felt perfect for expanding their relationship as his company invests in Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Atlantic City.

Caesars stated that the makeover at Nobu Hotel in Caesars Palace Las Vegas included redesigning 182 guestrooms. But, it is not clear how many rooms should be expected at Nobu Hotel in New Orleans and Atlantic City.

Nobu Is Tied to Casino Business

Nobu is tied to the casino industry in the hospitality section and in the gaming section. In 2015, James Packer bought 20 percent of Nobu for $100 million through his casino, Crown resorts. Packer is an Australian billionaire who wished to be in association with Hollywood’s best.

By acquiring a position in Nobu Hospitality, Packer held a star-studded press event featuring A-listers including De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Martin Scorsese. At the moment, Packer is no longer running his casino empire.

He left the company as its CEO but retained 37 percent ownership of Crown. Packer has a mental illness, confirming he had bipolar disorder last year.
