Caesars Entertainment Plans To Speed Up Harrah’s New Orleans Renovation Project In 2023
Caesars Entertainment declared in December 2020 that it would spend $325 million transforming Harrah’s New Orleans into Caesars Palace New Orleans. Still, it would add an entranceway and a 340-room hotel tower by 2024.
The gaming operator has started the project, and a NOLA.com report shows that it will increase its efforts from January 2023. Yet, Caesars hasn’t given a timeline for when it will rename the gaming site Caesars Palace New Orleans. It plans to complete the renovation by December 2024.
Harrah’s New Orleans Casino launched on Canal Street in October 1999 in downtown New Orleans a short distance from the French Quarter. Reports show that Harrah’s purchased Caesars Entertainment Inc. in 2005 before the merged company was renamed in 2010 to Caesars Entertainment Corporation.
More Details About the Renovation Project
The $325 million project features adding a 340-room hotel tower above the casino valet porte cochere. This will increase its rooms to 790. Also, the plan has new hospitality and culinary offers in the casino, developing the empty space on its second floor, full exterior, interior design, and architectural improvements.
Other notable changes in Crescent City’s only brick-and-mortar casino will occur early next year, including external changes that match the property’s rebranding and renovating of 25 percent of its gaming area. Stephanie Rigel from NOLA.com indicated that the ongoing expansion phase will end by April 2023, while the whole renovation project will conclude by summer 2024.
Harrah’s New Orleans Launches WSOP Poker Room and a Bookmaker
Harrah’s New Orleans unveiled a WSOP room and Caesars Sportsbook in September 2022. The bookie has over 10,00 square feet of space, and it provides sports die-hards a thrilling sports gambling experience. Moreover, it has 12 self-service gambling kiosks and four gambling windows.
The sportsbook allows players to wager and watch games through a high-end audio system and a 147-foot video screen. It can accommodate 140 people, has a multi-display Fan Cave that has a private viewing option for 24 clients, and its bar can host 28 visitors.
It has the biggest poker room in Louisiana, covering more than 5,000 square feet. Harrah’s New Orleans is set near the bookmaker and has 20 poker tables with exceptional beverage service.
The room holds weekly poker events on Wednesdays, Mondays, and Sundays. It offers a wide array of games that suit recreational and professional players.
Caesars Entertainment’s Undying Dedication to Louisiana
Harrah’s New Orleans’ $325 million renovation project is part of Caesars Entertainment’s $500 million dedication to Louisiana. It is one of the country’s biggest gaming markets and has other Caesars’ gaming properties.
Tom Reeg, Caesars CEO, assured the Louisiana Gaming Control Board that the operator would spend $500 million by December 2024 to renovate its properties. The company renamed Isle of Capri Lake Charles to the Horseshoe Lake Charles several weeks ago.
Horseshoe Bossier City unveiled a Caesars Sportsbook in September. Caesars Entertainment has other collaborations with NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, the NCAA’s Louisiana State University Athletics, and the NFL’s New Orleans Saints. Still, it signed a two-decade exclusive naming rights contract with the Saints for their home stadium, which it later renamed Caesars Superdome.
