The Commerce Casino in Los Angeles is currently hosting the latest World Series of Poker Circuit, and there are 16 events that are scheduled. 13 of those events have now been completed, which now means that 13 rings have been handed out to the winners.
While there have been some great events throughout the WSOP Circuit, the Main Event was the biggest event that was on the schedule. That event has now wrapped up, and it was German player Jessica Vierling that came away with the massive win.
Vierling was able to pick up her second career WSOP Circuit ring, and she has now won more than $1 million while playing live poker. There were more than 1,400 players that signed up to compete in the $1,700 Main Event, and that led to a total payout of $2.2 million for the top 164 players.
This also led to a massive payday for the champion Vierling as she was able to take home $328,273. There were some other big names that were competing in this event, and the top four players were able to take home at least $100,000 since the pot was so large.
With the 2024 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions coming soon, everyone is looking to win a ring in order to qualify for those big events.
Women Winning Big
The live poker scene is starting to see more female players competing in the bigger events, and women have found a ton of success so far in this WSOP Circuit. In fact, Vierling became the fourth female to win a tournament during the event, and she was by far the biggest winner.
The first event of the WSOP Circuit was actually won by a female as it was Christina Gollins that won $105,444 by winning the Housewarming Event. Gollins and Vierling had the two biggest paydays for women, but Sally Stephens and Kathy Chang were also able to win some tournaments.
This could lead to some big wins by females later on at the WSOP, and there are still three more opportunities to win on the WSOP Circuit. Alex Massman was one of the biggest male winners at the WSOP Circuit as he took home $83,897 by winning a No-Limit Hold’Em Tournament.
A Look at Main Event Winners
While live poker players are waiting for the 2024 WSOP to come later this summer, there are Circuit events taking place throughout the country. This most recent stop in Los Angeles is actually the 26th different stop so far in the United States.
All of this action started back in August 2023, and there were four Circuit events that took place during that first year. This was already the third Circuit stop during the month of May, and these events are taking place all over the country.
The $1,700 WSOPC Cherokee Main Event back in February 2024 saw the biggest pot, and that one was won by Tyler Barnes for nearly $390,000.
