A poker player identified as Julio “Skillrocks” Cedillo has bid his goodbyes to Hustler Casino Live following cheating allegations. However, Julio did not leave on his own accord. The casino discovered that he was peeking over at his opponent’s cards, giving him an advantage on several occasions.
Julio was playing $10.$20/$40 No-Limit Hold’em with two other opponents. He practiced his unethical behavior on Barry Wallace (one of the players), a regular player at Hustler Casino. Barry seated on Julio’s direct left.
This gave Julio a good sight to Wallace’s card. Fortunately, many people noticed that Cedillo was glancing at Wallace’s cards, especially the hole cards.
At one point, Julio looked at Wallace’s hand and went for an unusual play. He even tried to bring the other player, Solfo Antonio, into it.
There is also a video compilation showing the live-streamed game going around on YouTube. This video has helped the casino’s management to take action against the deceitful behavior, banning Cedillo from going to the casino ever again.
It Started With a Suspicious Fold
The suspicions kicked following Cedillo’s fold despite having a strong hand that could have won him the pot with 3:1 odds. The hand started with Antonio having As4c on the button and raising to $1200.
Julio called from a small blind holding 9c7c. Wallace was holding 10s8d when he called from the big blind.
The resulting flop was Ac7d9h when blinds checked to Solfo, who bet $1000 while the other two players called. With 6c giving Wallace a nut straight, Cedillo kicked Solfo under the table trying to get him on board with this cheating.
However, Solfo was clueless about what was happening and continued to play. At the time, Cedillo was holding two pairs; he could easily win the pot. His decision to fold surprised the commentators.
Meanwhile, Antonio moved all his chips to the middle with a pair. Wallace called and won $19,440.
This was not the only hand Cedillo glanced at Wallace’s cards. Viewers had noticed that he constantly peeked at his opponent’s cards and successfully bluffed against him. In the circulating video, you will notice Cedillo’s unscrupulous behavior at 4:14:14, 4:15:56, and 4:18:00 time stamps.
Your Time Here Is Over
Barely 24 hours after the game, Hustler Casino management announced through a Twitter account about banning Cedillo from the platform. The casino owners, Ryan Feldman and Nick Vertucci, wrote on their Twitter account explaining that they wanted to do the right thing. They also said that they do not tolerate similar behaviors to that of Cedillo.
The casino owners also clarified that Cedillo had admitted to seeing Wallace’s cards several times. However, Cedillo had insisted that Wallace was irresponsible for not protecting his cards. The dishonest player also claimed that he was not violating any rules but admitted looking at other players’ cards was unethical.
Hustler Casino owners also wrote that Cedillo had agreed with the management’s decision to ban him from going into the property. The owners also hope that the incident would serve as a lesson to players planning to employ tricks to win games.
