Many of the world’s best poker players marked the International Poker Open (IPO) Dublin as an important tournament in which to take part.
The festival usually takes place annually at the Bonnington Hotel, but this year things will be a bit different, as live poker festivals are either canceled or postponed all over the world due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Still, canceling and postponing are not the only two options. Many organizers opted for the third — bringing the whole festival to the web, which is precisely what the team behind IPO decided to do.
For the first time in the history of International Poker Open Dublin, the festival will take place entirely online at the Unibet Poker platform, which has been one of the official partners to the festival during the last couple of years.
What to Expect from This Year’s IPO Dublin?
The festival started on October 19 and will last until October 26, with a tightly packed schedule. During that time, players will have an opportunity to grab a share from the €150,000 prize pool.
The first event will start right away, and it will be Super Qualifiers that will take some of the best players to the IPO Main Event. The satellite events require the buy-in of €25, and at least five players will receive an opportunity to sit at the Main Event table. Players who want to buy their seat at the Main Event will have to pay €300 for that.
The Main Event will last two days, with Day 1 taking place on October 24 at 7:00 P.M. GMT. Every player will receive a total of 25,000 in chips and will compete for the share of the €50,000 in guarantees.
Non-satellite Events at the IPO
The first non-satellite event will take place on October 21, and it will be a €15,000 IPO Warm Up that will require a €50 buy-in. It will start at 7:00 P.M. GMT.
On October 22, players will have an opportunity to take part in two other non-satellite events. The first one will be a €10,000 IPO Rebuy, where it will cost €25 buy-in. This event will start at 7:00 P.M.
The other one is a €5,000 Nightly Freezout. To take part in this event, players must pay €100, and be ready to pull an all-nighter, as the event starts at 9 pm.
The same pattern will be repeated on October 23, meaning there will be two non-satellite events — a €10,000 IPO Rebuy and a €5,000 Nightly Freezeout.
On October 24, there will be a €2,000 #QUEENRULES (Ladies Event), which will start at 7 p.m. and require the buy-in of €25.
Moreover, high rollers will have an event dedicated to them, which will start on October 25 at 7 p.m. it will offer €25,000 in guaranteed prizes and will require the buy-in of €500. There will be qualifiers for the high roller event too.
Finally, for those on a budget, there will be a €25,000 IPO Mini Main Event that will cost €100 to enter.
