Kevin Hart Busts Phil Hellmuth as Super High Roller Bowl Begins

The Aria Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada has been busy hosting several high roller events within the past week all leading up to a major high roller challenge. Yesterday marked the beginning of the Super High Roller Bowl, a tournament with a buy-in of $300,000 with several top pros taking part. On Day 1, the 888poker sponsored event saw Byron Kaverman take the lead with such memorable outs as comedian Kevin Hart busting Phil Hellmuth with Queens before the day came to an end.

Kaverman would have the chip lead after Day 1 of game play after winning a few big hands, two involving Cary Katz and Igor Kurganov. A total of 12 players would be eliminated during Day 1 including the Poker Brat Phil Hellmuth. Hellmuth would go up against Kevin Hart, a comedian who recently signed a partnership deal with PokerStars to represent the brand.

Hart was holding Queens when he was up against Hellmuth, whose smaller set of threes were unable to stack up. Hart was able to limp past Day 1 by having just a bit below the starting stack left to his name. Also included in the eliminations were Ben Tollerene and Erik Seidel.

Players will be returning to Aria Poker beginning at 1pm today to start Day 2 of the Super High Roller Bowl event. 44 players will return during today’s action to battle it out over the next few days to see who earns the first place win.

The top seven places will earn a payday with the following payout structure:

Currently, Byron Kaverman has a sizable chip lead with 1,247,000 going in to Day 2. Leon Tsoukerni comes in second in chips with 912,000 followed by Fedor Holz with 803,000.
