Over the recent months more and more people are getting out of their houses and starting to return to normal. The city has seen a recent influx of visitors since the rollout of the vaccine. In fact, the last few weekends, hotels have experienced a 95% occupancy rate.
Before covid-19 vaccinations were made readily available for adults, Las Vegas had suffered a near-catastrophic decline in tourism. As a result, several Resort Casinos were forced to close their doors due to low customer demand.
Since the pandemic, casino employees have relocated. This has created a high demand for dealers in the casinos, especially since the casinos are getting busy again.
The Crescent School of Gaming and Bartending
For would-be dealers, the cost to attend the dealer school ranges from $500 to nearly $12,000. Lessons can range from six weeks to six months. Although it’s estimated that graduates who move onto casino jobs earn around $35,000 off the strip and more than $50,000 on the strip.
One dealer told the newspaper she made about $75,000 in 2020 working at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The dealer was able to earn that much even though resorts statewide were closed for 11 weeks during that year.
The dealer went on to tell the newspaper,
“I don’t know what it is, but we made more money after we reopened than we did before we shut down. It’s close to $100,000 a year job if you get into the right property.”
