It was a mixed bag for New Jersey gaming revenue in April. Internet poker and casino sites posted a win of $12.7 million last month. That was up 11.1 percent from the year before. Poker revenue was just under $2 million, down 23.4 percent from the previous year. House games banked $10.7 during the month, up 21.2 percent from 2014.
The Borgata interactive gaming license, which includes Borgata, Party Poker, and Pala Interactive, was the big winner in New Jersey’s internet gaming industry. The group was about $4 million during April between poker and casino.
Golden Nugget and its sister site Betfair won $3.3 million last month. All of that was from casino games as the pair of sites do not spread poker.
Tropicana and Virgin Casino won $2.7 million at its online casino games. Caesars Interactive won just under $2.5 million between its WSOP/888 poker network and several related casino skins. Resorts, the newest New Jersey casino site, raked in $212,000.
Atlantic City April 2015 Results
Gaming win at all Atlantic City casinos was $186.3 million in April 2015. That was a 17 percent loss in gaming revenue over the previous year. It still dropped 4.1 percent when removing the revenue from the three casinos that shuttered in the past year.
Caesars was the biggest loser on a percentage basis. It won 33.9 percent less in April 2015 than it did in April 2014. Trump Taj Mahal was down 11.6 percent, Bally’s slipped 3.5 percent, and Borgata dropped 2.9 percent from 2014. Borgata still continued its dominance in the market. It won $53.5 million in April.
The biggest winner in Atlantic City on a percentage basis last month was Harrah’s. It was up 17.7 percent. Resorts posted a gain of 13.5 percent for the second best effort. Golden Nugget was up 10 percent in April over the previous year, while Tropicana posted a 2.9 percent gain.
