According to the latest reports, the sportsbooks in New Jersey managed to generate revenue of almost $24 million in September. Furthermore, this included more than $194 million in wagers. This significantly helped this US state and improved its gambling industry. Compared year-on-year, there is a 19.5% increase which is amazing.
The report was published by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, and it stated that the biggest monthly gross revenue in September was recorded by Meadowlands Racetrack. This is the biggest land-based racetrack in NJ, and they managed to earn as much as $4.3 million. The second highest-ranking venue that includes betting on sports is Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. They managed to hit $2.4 million in September. Finally, Monmouth Park Racetrack occupies the third place with $2.1 million.

Other sports betting venues did not manage to go over $1 million in September. However, Ocean Resort Casino came very close to hitting that milestone. They managed to hit exactly $999.858. Better luck next time!
The online sports betting is whole another level. According to a report published by PlayUSA.com, DraftKings.com is the absolute winner in this category for September. This month was very important for online sportsbooks as it was the first month that was fully operational for the seven online sportsbooks. The numbers say it all. DraftKings partnered up with Resorts Casino Hotel, and they managed to hit the record $8.5 million. They held the #1 spot with their gross monthly revenue during the whole month.
They had a slight advantage as they were the first in New Jersey to allow online betting. The land-based sports betting licenses were issued in this state from June, which is one month after the United States Supreme Court invalidated the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (which is also known as PASPA). Soon, other online sportsbooks joined, and September was diverse when it comes to offers for punters.
The second online sportsbook on the list of those that had the highest revenue in September is FanDuel.com which is offered through a partnership that they have with Meadowlands Racetrack. The recorded revenue for the past month of this online platform is $2.8 million which is a lot less than DraftKings, but still an incredible result. Other online sportsbooks did not manage to reach a million.
Golden Nugget Atlantic City offers PlaySugarHouse.com, and they managed to earn $619.030, while Ocean Resort Casinos’ online platform earned $292,081. Finally, Monmouth Park Racetrack earned only $70,785. The last two partnered up with WilliamHill.com that represents them online in New Jersey.
The numbers are going up for the sportsbooks in New Jersey, and there is a bright future ahead of them. The question is whether other states in the US will achieve similar results once they introduce sports betting.
