On Monday, the very first PokerStars Festival Manila Main Event finished up with 594 players competing in the ?55,000 buy-in tournament. The event had a guaranteed prize pool of ?20 million, but with so many players competing, the guaranteed was much more than the original amount with ?28,809,000 up for grabs. The winner of the tournament would be Uday Bansal after he took down Antti Halme of Finland in heads-up play.
Monday was the final day of play for the tournament with fourteen players coming back to the felt to narrow down the field to the winner. In the end, it was Halme and Bansal battling it out to see who would win the first ever PokerStars Festival Manilla Main Event. Bansal would go into heads-up play with a slight lead and a deal was briefly discussed. The two eventually decided to set prize money based on chip stack, leaving ?300,000 plus the trophy to the winner.
It would take a little under an hour for the winner to be decided with Bansal coming out on top. On the final hand, both would be all-in with Bansal in the lead. Halme would hold A-10 with Bansal coming up with the win after a jack on the turn made his A-J the better hand.

The PokerStars Festival moves to Uruguay next month with the final Latin American stop for the year. The Conrad Hotel & Casino will play host to the tournament stop from September 16th to the 23rd.
