Earlier this week, it was announced by King’s Casino Rozvadov that the guaranteed prize pool of the upcoming 2017 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event will be increased a cool million. The €10,350 buy-in event will take place from November 4th to the 10th, offering a total of €5 million in guaranteed prize money and at least €1 million for first place.
Preliminary events will begin to run during the middle of October with players preparing for the November events. In the past, the main event guaranteed €4,000,000 and this time around will offer €5,000,000 instead!
Also on the schedule will be a High Roller for One Drop event, with a €111,111 buy-in. This event will have a massive €10,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. Leon Tsoukernik, the owner of King’s Casino, stated that the event already has more than 90 players who have confirmed they will be taking part.
The event is actually capped at 111 players, so Tsoukernik encouraged anyone who has not confirmed they wish to compete should do so before the player cap is reached. The demand is already strong for the event that will not kick off until November 3rd.
King’s Casino in Rozvadov is the new home for the World Series of Poker Europe as the brand and the casino signed a multi-year agreement late last year. The deal brought the WSOPE to the Czech Republic for the very first time and events hosted at King’s have already been popular with poker players.
King’s Casino completed a refurbishment of the property to increase the number of poker tables to 190 to accommodate players. Additional improvements included a new hotel tower offering 218 guest rooms. On top of hosting WSOPE events, the casino will also be home to WSOPC events. The first started in 2016, with one in 2017, two scheduled for 2018 and more to come in 2019 and 2020.
