Live poker tournament enthusiasts will have an opportunity to take part in a popular competition that will be hosted at Wynn Las Vegas starting March 3. The festival will last for 19 days and end on March 22, distributing more than $2.5 million in guaranteed prizes. The name of this festival is Spring Classic.
The majority of guaranteed prizes will be distributed via two $1 million events. The first one will be the $1M GTD Championship, which will require a buy-in price of $3,500. Each starting player will receive a total of 40,000 chips, and levels will last for exactly 60 minutes. This event will have two starting flights, as Day 1a will take place at noon on March 12, and Day 1b the day after at the same time. Day 2 will start on Sunday, March 14, and the final table will play out on March 15.
The other big event, which will distribute seven-figure guaranteed prizes, will require the buy-in of $1,600 and will take place on the weekend after the GTD Championship. Each player will get a total of 30,000 in chips, and levels will also last for 60 minutes. The tournament will feature three starting flights, and all of them will start at noon on March 18, 19, and 20, respectively. Day 2 will take place on March 21, and the big finale will play out on March 22.
Last year, Wynn Spring Classic $1,600 buy-in $1M GTD attracted a total of 687 runners, with Kevin Buck taking the lion’s share of the pool, winning a total of $166,837 after facing Justin Bond in the heads-up.
Another big event that will take place this year is the $600 buy-in $250,000 GTD Kickoff Event, which will start on Thursday, March 4. After that, players will have an opportunity to take part in the $10,500 High Roller event, which will start on Thursday, March 11. There will also be three Survivor tournaments as well. Players will have a chance to win trophies for all events except for Survivor and satellite events.
The High Roller event will have a $500 entry fee discount for all players who decide to register early. Therefore, if you want to play with big money and you want to save on your buy-in, make sure to be there on time. The night before the High Roller, players can try to earn their seats by taking part in the $1,025 + $75 Super Satellite (Wednesday, March 10 at 6 PM).
Health & Safety Protocols
All visitors will have to follow the health and safety protocols to eliminate the possibility of viral transmission of Covid-19. Each player will have to wear face coverings, and the only time it’s allowed to take it off is when taking a drink, but they must bring it back on right away. There will be hand sanitizers all around the poker room and on each table. All touchpoints that experience high traffic will be sanitized frequently, in addition to playing cards and chips. Plexi-glass dividers will be installed between players.
