Now that Assembly Bill 114 is now passed in the state of Nevada, regulations need to be drafted for interstate to become reality in the state. The Nevada State Gaming Control Board Gaming Commission would now like to get public feedback on interstate poker before they begin drafting regulations for online poker.
Governor Brian Sandoval, of Nevada, signed the bill into law in February and the state is now free to begin working with other states, working together to offer online poker options. The Nevada State Gaming Control Board Commission must now begin to create the regulations to put the law in place. The five member group has decided to take a look at comments by the public before making final decisions.
The Commission is opening up to public review until April 12th. Comments will be accepted until this date online. Replies will then be made until April 19th. The commission would like to see what issues they need to consider for the regulations for interstate poker agreements.
Such issues could include how any player disputes can be handled if such problems take place based on the new deal or other problems that may arise. The commission released a statement on the subject which read: “Regulatory language will be drafted after comments are submitted and will be considered at a regulatory workshop yet to be scheduled.”
As of now, the state of Nevada does not offer official online poker options as no site has launched yet. However, several companies are working on their sites so online poker should be available soon. With the passing of Assembly Bill 114, residents of Nevada will be able to enjoy these options as well as residents of participating states in the US. So far, this could include Delaware and New Jersey, however many more states have begun discussing the online poker option.
