The casino resort opened only a year and a half before this expansion took place in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The new things which were added in this expansion are mainly 285 slot machines, off-track horse betting, and a large room for poker. The official added that they had never expected such a great volume of visitors and that the steps that had been taken to make the expansion had been a consequence of the high demand for additional options for gaming.
Ever since the casino resort opened, it has become quite an attractive place for the high-end gamblers. The reason for this was mainly the fact that Virginia and Washington are nearby and that there is a domestic market. However, Johnson added that gaming was not the sole attraction for the customers to come to this venue. Namely, it has a 3,000-foot theater and every now and then the casino would host some of the greatest performers of our time, including the names such as Bruno Mars and Britney Spears. This is, according to Johnson, also one important thing that they are proud of and which attracts a lot of visitors as well.
Maryland seems to be doing great when it comes to the casinos. Apart from the aforementioned MGM National Harbor, there are five more great and operational casinos. Together, the casinos made a revenue increase of 14.1% in the previous year and June was a particularly good month for them as they managed to earn $148.9. Only MGM’s resort in Maryland managed to generate $59.3 million last month. Compared to the June 2017, this is 18.3% up in revenue.
The casino resort currently has 2,961 slot machines and 180 tables for various types of games. For comparison, the biggest casino in the area, Live! Casino & Hotel has 3,997 slots and 198 gaming tables. Yet, MGM has really made the name for itself and is currently the most successful casino in the area, despite not being the biggest one as well.
