Labor day weekend kicked off a touch early at Pokerstars, one of the world’s best online poker sites when this seasons WCOOP events commenced on Thursday. Being the largest online poker series, online poker players flocked to the online poker site, entering satellite tournaments, and ponied up the buy-in fee for some very lucrative online poker tournaments.
Event number one began September 3rd, the tournament included a guaranteed prize pool of a quarter of a million dollars.
Quarter of a million, child’s play. 8, 538 online poker players entered, and the prize pool surpassed the million dollar mark, the winners of the event shared a prize pool of $1,707,600.
The first player to hit paydirt was Triple B2, winning 290.29 for his troubles in 1359th place. Shane147 who won the event last year also cashed this year, taking home a small chunk of sofa change in comparison to last years cash. A few of the PokerStars pro’s made the money, such as JC Alvardo who finished in the top 1200, Anton Allemann who finished in 876th place, and Lee Nelson who made it to 421st place in the huge-among-us online poker tournament.
Worth more than an honorable mention were Victor Ramdin and Dennis Phillips, both players landed themselves in the top 200. The last PokerStars, or shall I say IntelliPoker pro standing was George Danzer from Germany. He finally felted in 71st place.
