Absolute Poker Responds to Kahnawake Gaming Commission Report

In a press release from Anna Molley, Vice President of Public and Community Relations, Absolute Poker has responded to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission’s report on the security breach at their online poker room.

Absolute Poker only addressed some of the issues release in the report saying in the beginning that,

“After reviewing the published report, we recognize the completeness and accuracy of the KGC conclusions, and we accept without reservation the KGC’s findings and sanctions.”

Then adding,

“Most importantly, we are pleased, after these many months, that Absolute Poker can finally put behind it a most distressing and regrettable experience for the Company, its employees, and its customers.”

Absolute Poker responded first to the point of fixing the issue in the software so that this could not happen again and further stated they have assigned a team made up of “internal and external members” to improve and install any more safeguards that may be needed.

AP also address’s the issue of the game logs being deleted by aloofly stating that, “The Company also regrets the inadvertent deletion of certain gaming logs and records during the course of the investigation.” Stating it was “relieved” it did not hamper the investigation from getting the information it needed.

It also used this press release to promote a series of ‘poker security summits’ in an attempt to show its commitment to security in the future. Saying of the security summit,

“AP will invite respected and independent members of the poker community to focus on innovative and cutting-edge ways to further improve AP’s security and enhance its transparency.”

The press release ended with an apology of sorts from Absolute Poker saying,

“As AP has repeatedly stated in the past, we regret the damage done to our players and to our own reputation by this incident.”

Adding at the very end,

“…we are gratified that we can now close the book on this sordid affair and return our full focus to providing the safest, most secure, and most enjoyable poker playing experience in the industry.”

To the last statement, only time will tell.
