Even though the 2020 World Series of Poker Online is completed, the poker world has already focused on another huge online series – the World Championship of Online Poker. Mateos managed to achieve something that no player would be able to repeat any time soon. He has managed to win a fourth WCOOP title after taking down WCOOP-25-H: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em (8-Max, Super High Roller Sunday Slam). His final opponent in this event was no other than the German prodigy Fedor Holz, who proved recently in a WSOP heads-up event that he would not be messed with when playing one-on-one.
Nevertheless, Mateos managed to face Holz successfully and joined several players who have four WCOOP titles, such as Joao Vieira, Gleb Tremzin, Dzmitry Urbanovich, and Andrey Zaichenko.
By winning this event, Mateos managed to amass a total of $21 million earned from playing poker (live and online tournaments).
The event itself came with $2.5 million in guaranteed prizes, attracting 71 players and recording 35 re-entries. The final prize pool was $2,599,650, as a total of 106 entries were recorded. Mateos was a re-entry himself, as he failed to fire the first bullet properly. The second one was right in the middle of the target, so his additional investment wasn’t in vain.
The Final Table Results
The final table of this event consisted of nine players, and the first one to hit the rail was Chris Hunichen form the US, who won $78,787 for his effort. Hunichen was followed by Artur Martirosian, who managed to snatch $94,202.
After that, it was time for Finland’s Pauli Ayres to say goodbye to the rest of the crowd, winning $122,696 as the seventh-placed player.
Wiktor Malinowski left the game after that for $159,810. The fifth place was reserved for a player who uses an online nickname “tzuzteutezu” from Austria. They managed to win a total of $208,149.
Kahle Burns, one of the most popular players in Australia, managed to reach the fourth place, winning $271,111 for his effort.
The last player to hit the rail before the heads-up play started was Luke Reeves, UK’s poker professional, who managed to win $353,294.

However, Holz accepted that idea after the first hand. The tournament was paused for a short period of time, and the two players reached a heads-up deal.
At that moment, Mateos had a slight chip lead over Holz but managed to lose it soon after that. Nevertheless, he regained all the chips and eventually completed the event as the winner.
Therefore, Holz had to settle for the second place, but his consolation prize wasn’t all that bad, having won $515,293.
