The Bodog Brand has announced that they are closing the Bodog online poker options in the UK/Europe area. The Bodog.co.uk site has temporarily blocked new players from signing up to their site and the will be shutting down their online poker room, according to a recent report by PokerFuse.
Bodog88, Bodog.CA and Bovada will remain online for Asian players as well as Canadians and US players respectively. Bodog.EU has shuttered and they moved those players to the UK site. The site recently withdrew from twenty including Eastern Europe and Belgium. Players from the UK and Europe can still enjoy the Bodog poker gaming options but they will have to open a new account at Bodog88.
The UK site now states that improvements are coming soon and a new relaunched website will focus on the live dealer casino, however the online poker room will close. Bodog UK released a statement last week which stated that the relaunch was going to focus on the Asian expat market. The new site will offer players more traditional casino games as well as sports betting. Poker will not be included in the initial relaunch for the new UK facing website.
The UK website also states that the poker and sportsbook will cease in their existing form. Players who ‘feel the site will no longer cater to your gaming needs’ can choose to cash out. According to PokerFuse, Bodog Asia has bought out the Bodog Poker Network and Bodog.co.uk and will now move their focus mostly on the Asian markets.
