Bodog Poker Network Increases Tournament Guarantees

The Bodog Poker Network, which includes U.S. friendly Bovada, has raised many of its tournament guarantees.  Some nightly tournaments were raised and there were some changes to the Sunday major events.  The total increase in guaranteed prize pools is over $50,000.

Some major changes include:

• Nightly $11 buyin $6,000 Guaranteed raised to $8,000
• Nightly $82 buyin  $9,000 Guaranteed raised to $10,000
• Monday-Saturday $60 buyin $15,000 Guaranteed raised to $20,000
• Sunday $11 buyin $12,000 Guaranteed raised to $15,000
• Sunday $60 buyin $15,000 Guaranteed raised to $20,000

This move comes just before the end of the summer when poker traffic starts to rebound after its typical summer lull.  Football season is just weeks away.  That is the busiest time of the year for Bovada.  Many football fans are sure to find their way to the poker tables to help increase the Bodog Poker Network’s already impressive traffic numbers.

Zone Poker

This announcement came just a week after the introduction of Zone Poker.  It is the first fast fold option available to U.S. players since Full Tilt Poker and its Rush Poker feature left the market after Black Friday.  New limits have been added and now Zone Poker is available in $.02/$.05, $.05/$.10 and $.10/$.25 in No Limit Texas Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha. 

Revolution Gaming Drops Major Guarantees 25%

The other major news this week on the tournament front was the 25% reduction in many guaranteed tournaments on the Revolution Gaming Network.  This was due to Intertops opting out of most major network guaranteed tournaments.  Intertops has also ring-fenced most of its higher limit games from the rest of the network.  The main $75,000 Pro Bounty Elite guarantee was dropped to $60,000, while the $25,000 Pro Bounty Elite dropped to $20,000. 

According to ProfRB, The $60,000 guaranteed was $100,000 seven weeks ago, while the $20,000 event had a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool.  This demonstrates the woes of the Revolution Gaming Network where traffic has collapsed amid slow cashout complaints from major skins such as Cake Poker, Juicy Stakes and Lock Poker.
