At the end of 2011, Bovada Poker (formerly Bodog Poker) decided it was time to revamp their software. The site made many changes that has benefited their players and now the online poker room has announced that they are offering a Mac client that is compatible to their new software changes
Bovada Poker revealed their new software in December of 2011 and their new model, the Bovada recreational poker model was considered to be controversial and many poker pros disagreed with the changes. However, now many poker rooms have made similar changes to their rakeback system based on the Bodog Model.
The changes make the rake structure more appealing to depositing players rather than players who win regularly. All-anonymous tables were created which made date-mining non-existent and this worked well for the depositing player as well. Other sites and software companies looked to this model to create their own options such as Microgaming with their Heads Up Tables changing to anonymous options and PokerStars blocking certain data sites.
Jonas Odman, the Network CEO, commented on the new option and software changes by stating:
“The Mac client was always a ‘must have’ offering but to have it up within the first year of the software going live puts us well ahead of where we hoped we would be in terms of player reach at this stage. Now that the Mac client is ready we can concentrate on the first B2C marketing push of the Recreational Poker Model.”
The addition of the Mac Client will now allow Mac users to be able to enjoy the new features which Bovada has now released. The company had always planned on offering the Mac option with the new changes and they worked as quickly as they could to be able to offer this option to their players.
