Plenty of poker pros were on hand to try and capture the bracelet win of the World Series of Poker Event #14. The $2,500 Six Handed Limit Hold’em event had three hundred and sixty seven players competing for a piece of the $844,100 and the title of WSOP bracelet winner.
Day one saw many players knocked out early and by the end of the day only ninety eight players were left vying for the win. When Day two began Daniel Negreanu held a good size chip stack but he was nowhere close to being the top chip holder. Tommi Horkko ended Day two as the chip leader and on Day three would play quite well.
Day three saw eleven players return with Horkko in the lead and by the time three handed play began it would be Horkko, Negreanu and Parker fighting for the first place prize. Though Horkko had held the chip lead for some time he could not hold on any longer and would be knocked out in third.
Horkko was knocked out when he went up against Negreanu with A-8. Negreanu held K-10 and the flop came A-10-4 with a 10 on the turn and a Jack on the river game Negreanu the win and Horkko was out in third.
This left Negreanu and Parker to compete in heads up play. Negreanu was in the chip lead but Parker gained a good bit of chips toward the end of the tournament and he was able to knock Negreanu out and claim the first place prize. On the final hand Negreanu went all in with K-10 with A-10-6 on the board. Parker called and showed A-J. Negreanu was unable to gain any ground and he was out in second place.
