It took just one day of downtime to merge the platform and player base of bwin.com with Party Poker. The beginning of the transition started back in 2010, when the two companies merged and the final steps are complete as of two days ago.
Poker players at bwin.com are now part of the player pool at Party Poker. Another step has also completed the transition to the Party platform from the Ongame Network. bwin.com players will now be able to access several benefits by the completed transition. Below are a few options that bwin.com players will now be able to access:
- Larger player pool which will include all Party Poker skins
- Better gaming selection and volume
- Upgrade in software system to Party Poker client
- FastForward Poker
- Late registration option for tournament play
- Custom avatar options
With the merged player pool now in affect bwin/Party Poker has now been able to surpass Full Tilt Poker to secure the second place spot in overall traffic volume. The transition will be a great one for both sites. Players who play at Party Poker have seen an increase in the number of players who are active at the site. Bwin was reportedly responsible for around 40% of the player base at the Ongame Network. As Party Poker players enjoy more competition, bwin players can access better features and options.
Currently, according to Poker Scout, Party Poker has more cash game players and 24 hr peak players but Full Tilt has been able to hold on to the 7 Day Average. It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks if the numbers continue to pull away with Party Poker moving up in the standings or if FTP will continue to remain the number two behind PokerStars, the solid number one poker room.
