Calvin Ayre the founder of Bodog online gaming and entertainment brand has issued a challenge to the online gambling industry to help the relief efforts in Haiti. Ayre has stated that he has asked his foundation to donate £10,000 to U.K. based Oxfam to aid their relief efforts in Haiti. Ayre has also challenged the rest of the online gaming industry to contribute to Oxfam’s Haiti relief efforts. Ayre’s private foundation will match all donations made to Oxfam by people from the online gambling industry up to $1 million dollars.
Ayre commented in a recent press release: “It’s a disaster in Haiti. I know they’ve had a tough go from Mother Nature recently, what with the hurricane and now this earthquake, but I cannot help but be disgusted with the ruling elite that have driven this country down like this while, no doubt, filling their own pockets. That being said, the innocents are, as always, the ones paying a horrendous price for this elite thievery and I think the global online gaming community has a duty to do something.”
Ayre has asked his foundation, the Calvin Ayre Foundation, to send the money to Oxfam and then he will be matching all donations made by an online gaming person up to $1 million dollars. Ayre commented: “in a situation like this, each of us has a duty to help. Let’s do it!â€Â
The Calvin Ayre Foundation was founded in 2005 and is a private and independent foundation with a charter to do charitable work around the world. The Foundation has pledged million of dollars and hundreds of man hours to help support those in need throughout the world.

Thanks for helping to spread the news about people in Haiti who were helped by my contribution and that of the industry. It is important to give back to people in need if you are in a place to do so. Have a great weekend!
