The final table at partypoker 2018 Caribbean Poker Party $5,300 Main Event consisted of eight players. As soon as Joe Kuether and Alex Turyansky were out of the game, Filipe Oliviera was very close to finishing up on sixth place. He would have hit the rail with a sum of $400,000, and everyone was expecting him to play a hand that will be his last one in this tournament.

But Oliviera is something else, and poker is the game where the tables can be turned in just a couple of hands. In other words, Oliviera managed to win the tournament and take home a sum of $1,500,000. It all happened during the period of three hours. The most exciting part of it all was the heads-up play against Craig Mason where Oliviera played some outstanding hands.
The tournament had a total of 1,815 entrants, and the player from Portugal managed to top them all. Prior to this win, he had about $140,000 in live tournament cashes. After he won this main event, he was listed among the poker millionaires.
The final day was overall very exciting. Only 11 players managed to reach it, and people who did not manage to make it to the final table are Niek van der Sluijs, Anton Wigg, and Alex Lynskey. We already mentioned that the eighth place was taken by Joe Kuether who won $218,000, and the seventh by Alex Turyansky for the sum of $300,000. The players to follow them were Diogo Veiga (also a player from Portugal) who won $400,000 and Konstantin Maslak from Russia who managed to take home $600,000.
The fourth place was occupied by the German player called Pascal Hartmann ($800,000), and the Irish player named Marc MacDonnell ended up third and won exactly a million dollars – not bad!
This leaves us the heads-up play where Filipe Oliveira and Craig Mason clashed and tested each others luck, skill, focus, and nerves. Both of the players had a similar number of chips, and Oliveira was the first one to gain the chip lead by bluffing his way with only a pair of deuces. He masterfully managed to make his opponent doubt his cards and back out. After that hand, everything changed, and Oliveira was on a great streak. It took him not more than an hour to complete the heads-up play and celebrate his victory. This made several people very happy, as there were other players from Portugal who rooted for him in during the last part of the game.
As soon as he finished it, they all started celebrating this huge victory for the biggest sum the Portuguese player has ever won. He gave a short interview after the game, saying that it was really difficult to play against Mason. He added that he had been very happy when his opponent busted, as it had opened more chances for Oliveira to win the game.
