On Sunday, the partypoker LIVE Poker UK Championships Main Event finished up after four days of nonstop action. It was Chris Brice who earned the first-place win, his first ever victory, after taking down Daniel Clark in heads-up play. The British poker player was able to take home £187,500 for his efforts.
The tournament was hosted by Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham with 1,076 players paying the £1,100 buy-in to compete. A prize pool of £1,043,720 was created. In the end, Brice was able to defeat Clark in heads-up play after just 20 hands to earn the first place win.
When heads-up play began, Brice would have a nice chip lead with 67,275,000 to Clark’s 40,450,000. The two would trade chips for around 45 minutes before the final hand went down. On the final hand, Clark would raise with 1.8 million holding an Ace-King. Brice would three-bet to 7.7 million with pocket Kings.
Clark then four-bet all in and Brice quickly called. The board ran 10-9-3-J-5 giving Brice the high pair and the win. Clark’s second place finish was his best result in a live tournament to date and beats the $100,000 he earned by finishing 3rd place during the partypoker MILLIONS Russia during a NLH 8-Max event in Sochi just a few months ago.
The partypoker LIVE tour now heads to Latin America for the Latin American Poker Championship. The tour stop started on February 24th and continues through March 4th. After that, the tour will move on to The IRISH Poker Open 2018, which includes the Grand Prix Ireland and the Irish Open Main Event.
