Chris Kruk Wins $25,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller of 2018 PCA

The $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller event of the 2018 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure has come to an end and it was Chris Kruk who claimed the first place finish. A total of 144 players registered to compete in the event, with Kruk earning just over $836,000 for outlasting the field of competitors.

Kurk earned the first place win in the high roller event just three days after finishing in 7^th place during the single day high roller event. That tournament also had a $25,000 buy-in and would give the pro just over $71,000 in prize money. In the No-Limit Hold’em High Roller, Kruk would face a tough final table that included Daniel Negreanu, Igor Kurganov and Justin Bonomo.

In the end, it would be Kruk and Jonathan Jaffe facing off in heads-up play. After Richard Seymour was knocked out in third place, Jaffe and Kruk would begin heads up play. Jaffe had a huge lead as he took down Seymour, beginning the one on one matchup with an 11 to 1 chip lead.

Despite being down in chips, Kruk would win a few big all-in hands to narrow the chip gap and eventually take the lead. When he was in the lead, an all-in with Jaffe would occur, signaling the final hand of the competition.

The final hand took place when blinds were set at 25,000-50,000. Jaffe would move all-in with pocket fours and Kruk would call holding pocket jacks. The board fell 8-5-2-K-8 giving Kruk the better hand and the first place win.
