The 2023 Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) bestbet Jacksonville is halfway through, and its first five tournaments have paid out over $386,000 after almost 1,300 players signed up. Here are highlights of the latest events in the competitive series.
Conrad Lau Tops in the $300,000 Guaranteed $1,700 Buy-In No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty Event
The tournament featured 92 entrants and took place on August 14. It had a $22,540 prize pool which the leading 13 players shared.
Conrad Lau agreed with David Trager to share the remaining prize pool. The former won the title and $5,488 top prize, while the latter took home $5,000 after finishing second.
Reports indicate that Lau’s recent victory increased his poker event earnings to almost $153,000. He made his biggest score after being the runner-up in the 2015 $350 Buy-In bestbet Jacksonville event.
The poker pro received $20,000 after finishing second. Trager was third in that tournament, and he won $10,404.

Fred Kalfas III Is the CPPT $400 No-Limit Hold’em Event’s Champion
The $400 Buy-In NLHE event occurred on August 15 with 68 entries and a $22,440 prize pool that its top nine finalists shared. Fred Kalfas III was the last man standing, and he bagged the $4,993 first-place prize.
William Rayl and Jason Simmons exited the event in second and third places, respectively. Eddie Rayl was the seventh player, and he took home $961, hence increasing his poker career earnings to over $211,000.
