Day one of PokerStars LAPT stop in Punta del Este has ended. A total of three hundred and twenty seven players entered the tournament each posting the $3,700 buy-in. By the end of day one Oliver Rowe is leading in chips while Alberto Andres Font Rytzner is right on his tail.
With so many players entered, the prize pool is sitting at $1.1 million. By the end of the day sixty four players are left to come back for day two. The top thirty six will take home cash and first place will win almost $300,000.
Several top poker pros came out to compete in the event including: Dennis Philips, Humberto Brenes, Victor Ramdin, Greg Raymer and Andre Akkari. This is just a few of the pros who made it out and those mentioned above did not make it past day one.
Several players who did well in the LAPT Mexico event are still in the running for the top prize. Bolivar Palacios Vasquez, Leonardo Emperador, Pavel Naydenov and Alex Brenes all made the final table at Mexico and are hoping to make the final table at this event.
