The state of Delaware may have the smallest market for online gaming in the United States but as of late, reports have shown the online poker and gambling revenues have continued to increase, with $267,801 earned last month. The total for the month was just over the March totals, of $260,539.
Since launching online gaming in November of 2013, the state has only seen two additional months when the $200,000 mark was reached. This was in 2014, funnily enough in March and April. Online poker for April 2016 in regards to rake and fees totaled $34,751 which was a slight decrease from March when the state earned $37,324.
Dover Downs was able to earn the majority of the online poker revenues for the state, bringing in $17,494, which is the first time that the venue has been able to be number one in earnings since online poker launched. This is the highest total for Dover Downs in close to a two year time frame. The year on year totals in revenue show a major decline unfortunately as poker sites were able to bring in just over $48,000 in 2015 for April.
Table games in the state did quite well for April in online game play, earning $90,313. This was a 32% increase from March, with more than $5.5 million wagered via table games online in Delaware for the month of April. This is the third consecutive month the state has been able to reach this collective total in regards to wagering on table games.
Despite the solid gains in online gambling over the past few months, new player account signups seem to be dwindling. Since February, the state has seen a consecutive decline in the number of new accounts created. For April, only 268 players signed up for new accounts.
