DeMarcus Cousins was suspended “indefinitely” following shenanigans the team called “Unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team” that took place during halftime during the Kings’ game against the Clippers this last Friday. Cousins was arguing with Sacramento Kings head coach Keith Smart in the teams locker rom.
The old saying “What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room”, actually turned right into “What happens in the locker room, ends up on the national news”. The final score of that game was 97-85.
This suspension marks the 3rd suspension for the Kings Center this season, however it’s the first suspension DeMarcus was given from the team directly, his previous two suspensions were punishments handed down from the NBA League Office.
After just one game, the game that the Kings won against the Blazers this Sunday 108-96 he’s back on the team’s roster. DeMarcus is expected to play in the team’s very next game in Portland Oregon on Wednesday.
Cowbell Kingdom Reported:
“What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room,” Cousins said. “But I was wrong. I was wrong. I’m a player that definitely wants to win every night, and I’m an emotional player. That’s never going to change.“But I shouldn’t have responded back,”
“Something was said, and I just should have stayed quiet. Is it a humbling thing? Yeah, I will say that. I mean, I messed up and I apologize to my teammates for responding the way I did, and I’ll move on from it.”
