Full Tilt’s Online Poker Series XIII kicked off yesterday with event #1 and the first tournament saw a good number of player’s turnout to compete. The FTOPS XIII will have twenty five events over a twelve day period and players will be competing for their share of more than $16 million in prize money.
Each event is of course hosted by a Full Tilt poker pro and the first event was hosted by Vitaly Lunkin. 5,712 players registered to compete in the kick off of the series which increased the $1,000,000 guarantee. The prize pool was boosted $142,400 with the top spot earning just over $107,000.
The name of the game for event #1 was No Limit Hold’em and with a buy-in of $200 plus $16 it is no wonder so many players turned out to participate. And of course there were players who had earned their spot via satellite as well.
Final table play began soon enough and when play got down to five players they all decided to cut a deal. This would be good for some as the eventual second and third place finishers would earn more than the first place winner.
With the deal in place online player hir03yj would go out in fifth place earning just over $89,000 while HoundsBlood would soon follow in fourth earning just over $107,000. Third would go to phil_ivey41 who earned the second largest payday of $120,298.79. MaKaVeLi121 and Deception Pt would then begin heads up play. Deception Pt would eventually earn the tournament win but he earned less than MaKaVeLi121 because of the chop. MaKaVeLi121 earned just over $131,000 while Deception Pt earned just over $107,000.
